When you realize you like something, sometimes you begin to wonder, "Why haven't I done this before?" . Health Club Music decided that they do like envelope generators a lot. And decided to make up for eight of them that we have been short of making this past year of 2008, and put them all on one machine.
Combined with a VOLTAGE-CONTROLLED 8-channel MIXER, became our Melody Mix.

Here is a video that shows just some things you can do, and an introduction to its features.

Melody Mix has:
Audio inputs = 8 of them!
Voltage-Controlled PAN = 8 of them!
Voltage-Controlled AMP = 8 of them!
Voltage-Controlled LOW PASS FILTER = 8 of them!
Voltage-Controlled Resonance = 8 of them!
Attack-Release Envelope Generators with Loop switch= 8 of them!
Envelope Outputs= 8 of them!
Audio Outputs = Stereo (Left) or Mono (Right). Please do listen on your stereo headphones.
and a Main Volume knob. "Main Gain". There are 56 Control Knobs!

Here are mp3 demos of Melody Mix. Note that there are bass lines and stereo panning in action, so please listen on your headphones too. These demos are made with this Melody Mix only, no external instruments required to make sounds like these.

Melody Mix is made using 8 CEM3379 chips by Curtis Electro-Music!

The Envelope Generators are Attack-Release envelopes that can be looped. As you can see on the video, the arcade buttons are manual trigger buttons, and the switches on the bottom right are three-way switches between Loop-None-Trigger Next.
With the switch on Trigger Next position, that envelope will trigger the next envelope after it plays the current envelope. Envelope 8 triggers Envelope 1, so you can have an 8-step sequencer with a completely different method of control from traditional step sequencers.

Envelope Generator is based on Ray Wilson's EG circuit.

All of the envelopes can be patched to the Control Inputs, and this is where you can start to get really creative. We didn't demonstrate the Pan control on the video since the audio is straight through the camera. Although, some of our mp3 demos demonstrate what you can do with envelopes panning.

8 stereo panning control + 8 envelopes= So many possibilities!

Plug in your audio inputs and play away!
Make those drony tones and jingly sequences!
