Swing Step Sequencer
In stock & On Sale at eBay (Aug. 17-24 2008)

The Health Club Music Swing Step Sequencer is an analog 16 step sequencer. It plays patterns with analog synthesizers that have CV and Gate inputs. Each step has a knob for pitch or whatever CV input you may have on your synth. Each step also has a 3-position switch to turn on and off the gate output for each step. Switch it up for Gate A output jack and switch it down for Gate B output jack. The center position is off.

The Clock input can also take an audio signal so you can experiment and plug a guitar in. (With effects pedals work best, in the video above the guitar is hooked into a MoogerFooger pedal before the clock input on the sequencer) The clock also takes audio from a drum machine (quick sounds like a snare drum work best!).

There is a link switch so that Gate A ouput and Gate B output are the same (almost!). When using the internal clock, you can switch the Gate B Swing Switch and all steps switched to Gate B will be shifted forward about a 1/2 step. This switch also has the side effect of not retriggering Gate B when consecutive steps are switched to Gate B. This allows some interesting TB-303-like patterns to be made. There are 2 CV ouput jacks. Just CV 1 has the Glide effect.

The Clock input jack lets you control the speed of the Swing Step with anything that has a clock out or trigger out (like the Roland TR-606). This way you can move the pattern rhythmically depending on how you program your beats.

When using an external clock, you can switch the Gate A External Clock Mix Switch to mix the Gate A output with the internal clock. This gives an LFO effect on the Gate A output. There is a Reset input jack that works great with a drum machine trigger output (especially TR-606) to keep your patterns in sync. An Up/Down Switch reverses the direction of the pattern. An Error Switch is a glitch switch that adds together the first 8 knobs and the second 8 knobs, then gives an empty space of 8 steps (unless reset is used).
